During the 78th session of the African Water Association’s (AfWA) Scientific and Technical Council held in Bamako in Mali, the Specialized Committee N°2 (SC2) related Work Group on the Water Quality organized from November 28th to 29th 2017, a knowledge sharing workshop on water quality control.
This workshop was attended by about fifteen stakeholders of the drinking water sector from Benin, Central Africa, Mali, Nigeria, and the Gambia and was organized within the framework of the AfWA’s AfriCap program financed by the USAID West Africa Bureau over a four (04) year period whose component 3 aims at capacity building the water quality analysis laboratories.
Room presentations on the results of the audits of the AfriCap program on the water quality and the on-site Chlorine production unit of the SOMAGEP-SA, followed by the visits of the Central Laboratory and the Water Treatment Station of the SOMAGEP-SA made it possible for participants to appreciate the SOMAGEP-SA technical know-how including the one related to the management of its on-site Chlorine production unit.
At the end of the two days fruitful training, participants were overall satisfied and ready to share the good knowledge acquired in their respective countries.
