The Sanitation Service Delivery Project (SSD), funded by USAID, in collaboration with the Commune of Yopougon, organized an event on the occasion of World Toilet Day. This project implemented by PSI aims to catalyse the sanitation market by engaging private sector players to provide products and services at low cost to low-income households in Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana and Benin.
During this day of celebration, SSD enabled partner entrepreneurs to present the sanitation solutions they are developing to the customary and administrative authorities as well as communities. These include "Sani Plus" latrines equipped with SatoPan, wells, septic tanks and septic tank emptying service.
In Benin, where the SSD project is being rolled out, a large caravan tour was undertaken to promote Mimin WC latrine in the Abomey Calavi district. Community Sanitation Advisers visited many districts to showcase the qualities and advantages of the Mimin WC latrines, affordable and economic latrines.
