The President of the African Water Association, Mr Abderrahim El Hafidi, General Managing of the Office National de l’Electricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE) Morocco, was elected as Governor of the World Water Council (WWC) at the 8th WWC General Assembly held in Marseille on Friday 30 November 2018.

Mr. El Hafidi has been elected to this position for the period 2019-2021 after the vote of the World Water Council’s members representing more than 50 countries.

The mandate of the Board of Governors for the next three years is to register the water on the agenda, generate strong political commitment and debate appropriate solutions to the water challenges of the 21st century.
