The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is working on a cross division project this year to better understand and support its key partners in execution and organizational effectiveness. As part of this project, a mission led by RED Associate and a member of the Foundation stay in Abidjan since June 07 to meet AFWA to understand its missions, its challenges and aspirations and propose solutions to improve its performance and its efficiency.
Thus, the first day of the mission consisted of working sessions with the managerial staff, the communication team and finally the coordinators of the Programs Department. The exchanges that took place in a participatory atmosphere revolved around the daily work of each team encountered, the successes and the challenges, the vision of the Association for the coming 10 years, as well as the needs in terms of capacity building.
On the second day, the exchanges took place with the finance team and the Program Director.
At the end of the mission, recommendations will be made to the Executive Directorate to improve its performance.
