It is done now! The Executive Office of the African Water Association (AfWA) is now located within the building accommodating the Integrated Operations Management Center of SODECI located in Riviera Palmeraie, in Cocody. The staff of the Executive Office occupies the second floor of this three-floor architectural jewel, built on a surface of 8,000 m2 with a used surface of 4,000 m2.

In addition to the Executive Office of the AfWA, this building hosts several departments of SODECI, including the Sales Department, the Sanitation Management Department, the Mapping Department and the Integrated Operations Management Center, which should be operational soon.

Since June 2017, the Staff of the Executive Office have been moved into these ultra-modern buildings. An ideal comfort for professional fulfillment. However, the AfWA Programs Department is expected to move to another site in the weeks to come, said Siméon KENFACK, the Programs Director, during the first staff meeting in these new offices. During this meeting, the Executive Director Sylvain USHER, was pleased with the relocation of all the staff to this new site.

It should be noted that since its relocation from Monrovia to Abidjan in the 1980s, SODECI has accommodated AfWA’s Executive Office (called General Secretariat at the time) by providing the premises. With this new headquarters, the Société de Distribution d'Eau de Côte d'Ivoire (Côte d’Ivoire Water Supply Utility), a founding member of the organization, thus reaffirms its commitment and support to the noble vision to make AfWA an organization of reference, a leader in implementing policies aimed to improve access to water, sanitation and hygiene for all in Africa.
