On June 13-14, 2017, the Finance and Strategies Director Mr. Olivier GNANKPA and the Procurement Officer of the African Water Association Ms. DALI Roger Lea participated in a capacity building training regarding the procurement procedures of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This two-day training session was organized in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso by the USAID WA- WASH program. The training was for USAID WA-WASH program staff and staff of partner organizations, such as AfWA and the West Africa Center for Studies in Economic and Social Experimentation (CESAO), and aimed to equip participants with knowledge on the rules and procurement procedures approved by the USAID.
On this occasion, Dr. Lakhdar BOUKERROU, Regional Director of the USAID WA-WASH program recalled, “It is important for the organizations financed by USAID to master and comply with its procurement procedures and rules.”
This training addressed five key modules, such as USAID rules and regulations, USAID procurement procedures and principles, management of equipment acquired under the terms of a federal agreement, procedures of equipment transfer and ethics, and best practices in procurement.
