After a period of formal training on January 16-21, 2017, AfWA staff, with the support of the CICF firm, had multiple post training follow-up sessions to master the use of Microsoft Project software. On June 20, 2017, a working session took place at the new AfWA head office in Riviera Palmeraie between the staff and CICF trainers. The objective of this meeting was to measure the level of mastery of the software through practical cases and then make corrective solutions.

After discussions on the level of progress and practical advice, the CICF firm made several recommendations including the revision of the list of tasks and the percentage of resources allocated to tasks in the MS Project software. This post training follow-up session, which was held for the second time, is a part of the series of capacity building sessions planned by the AfriCap program, one of the components is focused on AfWA staff capacity building.

“The AfriCap program aims to strengthen the institutional and human capacities of AfWA in order to enable it in turn to fully carry out its mission as a catalyst for acquiring and improving knowledge in water production and distribution, and sanitation management from the technical, legal, administrative and economic point of view,” according to the AfriCap Program Coordinator, Gilles Djagoun. Launched in 2015, the four-year AfriCap program is a capacity building program in the water, hygiene and sanitation sector in West Africa and funded by the USAID West Africa Bureau.
