The African Water Association Welcomes “Japan Water Forum”

The African Water Association received a delegation from “JAPAN WATER FORUM” organization last Sunday, December 13, 2015 at its headoffice. The delegation which included SHIGENORI Asai Deputy Manager and KAZUHISA Ito Assistant Secretary General made a general presentation of “JAPAN WATER FORUM“, an organization located in Japan, and which contributes to the resolution of water issues around the world, by bringing people and utilities to take part in dynamic and innovating exchange of ideas.

AfWA Executive Director, Sylvain Usher, seized this occasion to present his organization, its goals and various projects in progress and to come. He also presented AfWA’s strategy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which implies, on the one hand, the definition of performance indicators, and the implementation of a plan for achievement on the other hand.

The meeting continued with discussions between the two parties which learned to get better acquainted, and which sought focal points in their visions regarding the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. Moreover, JAPAN WATER FORUM was invited to take part in AfWA’s next international Congress scheduled from February 22nd to 25th 2016 in Nairobi, in Kenya.
