SODECI officially presented its ethic charter during a launching ceremony organized on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Centre des Métiers de l’Eau (SODECI Water Works Training Center). The document includes 12 values which convey the ethical vision of the company, and which will be implemented by a committee directed by Brihima FOFANA. “To have a charter is one thing, to change durably the behaviors is another one”, said Jocelyn AKELE who expressed himself on behalf of the president of the ethic committee, while ensuring that his unit would be able to face its responsibilities, while seeing to the respect of the values and principles included in the ethic charter. According to him, the method to make a success of this challenge relies upon the members of the committees and sub-committees and on the implementation of ethical actions promotion within the company.
The committees and sub-committees set up were officially presented by the vice-president of the ethic committee, DEGNI Guy-Florent, and then SODECI’s Managing Director acclaimed the commitment of everyone in the development and implementation of this charter. Basile EBAH defined ethic as a set of values and virtuous behavioral rules which one makes it a rule, and was pleased with the advent of SODECI’s charter in an Ivorian society which, he deplored, saw the falling off of values and the rise of fraud, acts of antisocial behaviors and others. While equipping with an ethic charter, SODECI’s ambition is clear enough, according to its Managing Director: “to seal a new pact of confidence; to do our work correctly”.
A film presenting the 12 values of the charter was presented to the agents who attended the ceremony. After this official launch, the ethic committee will be responsible for disseminating the charter on the field.
