The Kivu innovation fair, an organization of Kivu Entrepreneur, was held from 28 to 30 November 2018 at the hotel Cap Kivu / Goma, DRC. For 3 days, more than 400 people, mostly young people from all over the Kivu region as well as other provinces of the country took part in this event under the theme of "Innovation for emerging companies". The aim of this fair is to bring together Kivu entrepreneurs and donors on a single space for more financing opportunities. This major event, which put the issue of innovation at the center of the region's concerns, took place in 6 conferences and 6 workshops including the workshop on Health and Environment.
The AJPEA DRC/ Goma represented at this Fair by a team of three people (Caleb lwimbo, Serge Bashonga and Jonh Milano) had the honor of chairing the Health and Environment workshop where it was discussed to identify various challenges that face the sector in the region, then present innovative solutions.
Such major points on which the discussions have focused are: (1) Waste disposal and treatment; (2) faecal sludge management; (3) self-medication; (4) Access to drinking water; (5) Pollution; (6) Unhygienic trade and (7) occupational health. At the Health and Environment workshop, the proposals made by the participants that can be the subject of projects include: (1) biogas technology for biodegradable waste, (2) recovery of plastic waste in paving stones or handbags (3) design of faucets with filter, (4) Awareness, (5) organization of a forum on health and social security, (6) organization of plea sessions, etc. .
This fair was an opportunity to promote AJPEA DRC/ Goma to other structures, then to promote its activities and know-how in Health & Environment.
