The 1st network of the professional women working in the water and sanitation sector in Africa was launched, officially, thanks to AfWA’s 18th Congress held in Nairobi, in Kenya. The forum organized during this event was attended by women working in the water and sanitation utilities, Non-Governmental Organizations, Engineers, that is to say more than 200 women from 15 countries, supported by the effective presence of Managers of several water and sanitation utilities.
The topic of this 1st Forum of the Network of Professional Women was: “Strengthening the role of the woman within the water sector related utilities and sanitation services in Africa”. The Forum included two presentations, respectively, by Dr. Rose KAGGWA, 2nd President of AfWA’s STC and Mrs. DIANE D’ARRAS, Future President of the International Water Association. These two presentations were followed by a session relating to experience sharing animated by Dr. LALLA ASMA EL KASMI, Communication and co-operation Manager of the ONEE Morocco Water branch.
