CAPACITY BUILDING : A customer management training session scheduled in Accra
|
The African Water Association (AfWA) will organize from 26 to 30 September in Accra a customer management training session.
Various topics will be treated during this training session: defining and developing relevant customer management infrastructure, understanding the context of various customers, quality management, the role of communications in customer management, customer complaints handling and how to develop customer satisfaction culture within the organization.
This training seeks to deepen understanding of customer management and its relevance in utilities management even within the context of limited competitive pressures and facilitate the entrenchment of customer management practice at the heart of overall utilities management.
The training session will be hosted by Ghana Water Company Limited.

URBAN SANITATION FOR THE POOR : The African Water Facility launches calls for concept notes

The African Water Facility (AWF) has launched on August 29 a call for concept notes proposal under the theme of urban sanitation for the poor in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The AWF will fund ten projects that promise to address the needs and to sustainably improving the sanitation situation of a densely populated urban poor community, or of a small to medium size town relying mainly on latrines and septic tanks.
The funds allocated to finance projects selected will vary from 800 000 Euro to 1 200 000 Euro for a duration of 24 to 36 months.
The legal entities those are eligible to submit their concept notes on September 30 at the latest are urban authorities and local governments, urban sanitation service providers and service providers grouped together in partnerships.

REINVENT THE TOILET CHALLENGE : The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation headhunts a Program Officer
|
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation looks for its Reinvent the toilet challenge focused-strategy on sanitation a Program Officer to join the water, sanitation and hygiene team.
As key responsibilities, the Program Officer will shape and manage grants to invent, develop, and roll out the reinvented toilet and improved sustainable sanitation services and provide landscaping and analytical input into the potential of innovations in sanitation-related science and technology.
The qualification required is that the incumbent has an advanced degree in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline required; PhD strongly preferred with a minimum of seven years experience working in applied research or engineering.
