Global Water and Sanitation Connect 2026: AfWASA Conducts a Benchmarking Mission in Hungary for African Decision-Makers
The Global Water and Sanitation Connect 2026 has officially commenced in Hungary, bringing together 45 high-level African decision-makers from 15 countries and 30 organizations. Co-organized by AfWASA and the Hungarian Water Partnership, this initiative aims to strengthen synergies between European expertise and African priorities.
Over five days, participants are exploring Hungary’s high-performing models in drinking water treatment, wastewater management, non-revenue water reduction, and smart monitoring systems, they participate in high level panels on various themes related in water and sanitation sector. The benchmarking mission also highlights innovative approaches in circular economy and sustainable financing.
Beyond its technical dimension, the event seeks to catalyze strategic partnerships and accelerate progress toward SDG 6.
Global Water and Sanitation Connect 2026 thus stands as a key driver for the sustainable transformation of water and sanitation services across Africa.
